🍄 6 Things To Learn Before Breakfast: PRIMORDIAL GREEN
Electrical Earthing. Forest Therapy. Sacred DNA. Pharmacopeia. Plants, they have feelings too...
Hello, we’re Alice and we are always in a state of wander. Years of extensive research has shown that connecting to the Earth’s natural energy by walking barefoot on grass can diminish chronic pain, fatigue and other ailments that plague so many people today. This connection is referred to as Earthing or Grounding. The Earth’s energy upgrades one’s physiology by allowing the body to cope and repair thereby promoting wellbeing, vitality and better sleep. It also harmonizes and stabilizes the body’s basic biological rhythms, knocks down (and even knocks out) chronic inflammation and reduces and eliminates associated pain, making it the most natural and powerful anti-inflammatory and anti-aging remedy around. Neurobotany is driving the proliferation of “plants with purpose” as the basis for wellness rituals. The scent molecules of trees (called phytoncides) are volatile organic compounds, and terpenes are the main component. Our health is deeply influenced by these little plant-powerhouse molecules. When the molecules are inhaled or absorbed through the mouth and skin, they travel in the blood stream, are pulsed through the body, and instruct the brain. Ongoing research demonstrates that phytoncides increase Natural Killer (NK) cell levels. NK cells are a type of lymphocyte (a white blood cell), a component of innate immune system. NK cells are vital for immune health and play a major role in the host-rejection of both tumors and virally infected cells. Phytoncides also relax our parasympathetic nervous system, thus reducing stress hormones, which are widely understood to inhibit NK activity. Neurobotany researchers have discovered that plants have excellent abilities to detect the environment and to integrate the information. This opens an exciting field on how plants communicate and feel and how we can transfer this to humans.
🪴 OH WHAT A FEELING…“Even without nerves, plants can sense when something touches them and when it lets go,” states researchers from Washington State University. During the experiment, plant cells responded to the touch of a fine glass rod by sending slow waves of calcium signals to other plant cells. When the pressure was released, they sent much more rapid waves. Although scientists have known that plants can respond to touch, this study showed that plant cells send different signals when touch starts and ends! “It is quite surprising how finely sensitive plants cells are—that they can discriminate when something is touching them. They sense the pressure, and when it is released, they sense the drop in pressure,” said Michael Knoblauch, WSU biological sciences professor and senior author of the study in the journal Nature Plants. “It’s surprising that plants can do this in a very different way than animals, without nerve cells and at a really fine level.” Touch is a language—and all it takes is a light touch to temporarily increase pressure in a plant cell.
🌲SHINRIN-YOKU, the Japanese practice of forest bathing, harnesses the medicinal power of botany to harmonize our health. Since 1982, the Japanese government has designated 48 official Forest Therapy trails to encourage citizens to spend more time in the woods to bolster their health. We evolved with and in the natural world, so our cells, systems, and rhythms recognize the cells, systems, and rhythms of nature. Pines and conifers release large amounts of phytoncides into the air to suppress surrounding microorganisms, bacteria, and fungi from invading them. Other plants, including spices, many varieties of flowers, tea tree, oak, and countless others, release these compounds as well. Our health is deeply influenced by these little plant-powerhouse molecules. When the molecules are inhaled or absorbed through the mouth and skin, they travel in the blood stream, are pulsed through the body, and instruct the brain. A study from China focused on Cryptomeria Japonica Tree Oil and the participants reported improved sleep quality, lower anxiety, and less pain.
🌿PoHALA Esoteric Hawaiian Botanical Medicine: Of all species alive on this planet today, we know of only one who has preserved their sacred DNA throughout the countless cataclysms that have impacted the evolution of life on Earth. This species is the fern. Ferns are extent species that exist in evolutionary stasis, meaning they have remained unchanged, even at the level on nuclei and chromosome, for at least 180 million years. According to the ancient Hawaiians, the fern has a preserved biosphere, which encompasses the surrounding area of the plant, extending less than an inch from its body. There are over 100 Hawaiian ferns spanning a diverse array of geographical, biological, and topographical categories. Each individual fern vibrates to a specific principle. For example, the ‘Ae ferns spore holds the codes of Empathy; the Moa is the personification of Purification; and the Wawae’iole hold the resonance of Acceptance. The fractal of the fern is a perfectly constructed architecture of archetypal resonance. Its structure is already imprinted in the archetypal layers of the human mind—meaning we have free access in comprehending them.
🌲 ELECTRICAL EXCHANGE: Earthing is to physically and directly connect to the Earth so that the body may discharge static electricity build up, and resume uptake of the Earth's abundant source of negative ions. Earthing Japan, spreads the message of Earthing to Japan, and helps educate people about how it can benefit health and improve sleep. The Japanese admire moss and are captivated by its very existence. They are fascinated by this green plant which blankets the roots of trees and covers rocks in the woods. The country’s humid climate provides optimal conditions for it to flourish. You will find that 2,500 of the 12,000 species of moss in the world grow in Japan! They almost believe that without it, nature could not exist in their country, which was born of volcanic activity. In fact, moss contribute to fix, protect or create soils, and organic life. This could be one of the reasons why the Japanese love and respect moss. This enthusiasm has increased in recent years alongside the growing popularity of forest bathing, Earthing and mountain hiking and due to popular
publications such as Hisako Fujii’s book, “Mosses, My Dear Friends,” which sold 40,000 copies.
🌲THE EARTHING FACELIFT: An earthing study documented for the first time an improvement in facial blood flow, one of the likely ways that Earthing can potentially—and quickly—create a complexion boost and improve how you look. Better facial blood flow occurred within one hour, according to the study. Such improvement implies enhanced nourishment of facial tissues and functions, and, based on Earthing observations over the years, one can expect that continued grounding would generate continuing benefits to skin, complexion, and vitality—in essence, an “Earthing facelift.” In the study, electrophysiologist Gaétan Chevalier, Ph.D., visiting scholar in the Department of Family Medicine & Public Health, School of Medicine, UC San Diego, and the director of the Earthing Institute, used a double-blind model with forty subjects to determine if Earthing can improve facial circulation within one hour. He used both sophisticated Laser Speckle Contrast imaging and thermal imaging to document changes in circulation. Participants were individually tested over the period of an hour while sitting in a comfortable recliner chair. The chair was fitted with a grounding mat and pillow. Grounding patches were also placed on both palms and soles of the feet. The Earthing wires used to connect the participants were randomly assigned to either allow or disallow conduction of the Earth’s energy. So individuals were either actually grounded or sham grounded. Both techniques showed a clear improvement in facial blood flow regulation from grounding. No such result was found among the non-grounded participants.
🪴 ALGORITHMS OF ANCIENT BEAUTY: AI uncovers new functions of Traditional Chinese Medicine plants for skincare. Scientists are investigating the skin health benefits of medicinal plants from the Chinese pharmacopeia using artificial intelligence (AI). The project is based on the patent-pending algorithms of MeNow, an Israeli software company collecting data on the effects of bio-based molecules in a computational model of the skin.
“Alice laughed. ‘There's no use trying,’ she said. ‘One can't believe impossible things.’ ‘I daresay you haven't had much practice,’ said the Queen. ‘When I was your age, I always did it for half-an-hour a day. Why, sometimes I've believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast.’” ― Lewis Carroll
